The wall abuts a lovely patio with french door from the kitchen of this contemporary home in Los Altos Hills.

Nice spot to relax for a spell (don't mind if I do).

Steps lead to a rising footpath above and behind the wall.

The core of the wall is coconut coir, a neutral horticultural medium. Back side of the wall is expanded aluminum screen, allowing the roots to pass through and grow deep into the grade behind the wall.

The redwood framing lends its beautiful color to the proceedings.
